ततः सुषेण प्रमुखाः प्लवंगमाःसुग्रीव वाक्यम् निपुणम् निशम्य ।
आमंत्र्य सर्वे प्लवगाधिपम् तेजग्मुर् दिशम् ताम् वरुण अभिगुप्ताम् ॥४-४२-५८॥
tataḥ suṣeṇa pramukhāḥ plavaṃgamāḥsugrīva vākyam nipuṇam niśamya |
āmantrya sarve plavagādhipam tejagmur diśam tām varuṇa abhiguptām ॥4-42-58॥
Translation
Then, the monkeys led by Sushena, having heard Sugriva's skillful speech, bid farewell to the Lord of Monkeys and departed towards the direction guarded by Varuna.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनंतर, सुग्रीव के निपुण (युक्तिसंगत) वचनों को सुनकर, सुषेण आदि प्रमुख वानरों ने वानरराज (सुग्रीव) से विदा ली और उस दिशा (पश्चिम) की ओर प्रस्थान किया जो वरुण द्वारा रक्षित है।
English Commentary
This concluding verse marks the departure of the western search party. The narrator describes Sugriva's instructions as nipuṇam (skillful/expert), acknowledging the balanced mix of authority, flattery, duty, and strategic advice Sugriva provided. The Vanaras, observing proper protocol, take formal leave of their king ("Plavagadhipam"), indicating their readiness and submission to the task. The destination is poetically described as the direction "protected by Varuna" (Varuna abhiguptam). Since Varuna is the deity of the oceans and the guardian of the West, this imagery adds a mythological and geographical dimension to their journey, hinting at the difficult, watery terrains they might encounter. The mention of Sushena leading the group ("Sushena pramukhah") confirms that the chain of command established in the previous verses has been accepted and is now in effect as they march out.
