सुषेण प्रमुखा यूयम् वैदेहीम् परिमार्गथ ।
सौराष्ट्रान् सह बाह्लीकान् चंद्रचित्रान् तथैव च ॥ ॥४-४२-६॥
Suṣeṇa pramukhā yūyam vaidehīm parimārgatha । Saurāṣṭrān saha bāhlīkān candracitrān tathaiva ca ॥ ॥4-42-6॥
Translation
With Sushena as your leader, you must search for Vaidehi. Search through the regions of Saurashtra, Bahlika, and Chandrachitra.

सुषेण को अपना प्रमुख (नेता) बनाकर तुम लोग वैदेही (सीता) की खोज करो। सौराष्ट्र, बाह्लीक और चन्द्रचित्र नामक जनपदों में उन्हें ढूँढो।
English Commentary
Sugriva begins the geographical directives for the West here. First, he establishes the chain of command, reaffirming Sushena as the expedition leader. Geographically, he identifies specific ancient states. 'Saurashtra' corresponds to the modern Kathiawar region of Gujarat. 'Bahlika' is historically significant, often identified with Balkh (Bactria) or the northern Punjab region. 'Chandrachitra' refers to a neighboring kingdom. This indicates that the search begins in the civilized, populated regions of Western India before moving into the wilder frontiers.
