वृतः शत सहस्रेण त्वत् विधानाम् वन ओकसाम् ।
वैवस्वत सुतैः सार्धम् प्रविष्ठ सर्व मंत्रिभिः ॥४-४३-३॥
vṛtaḥ śata sahasreṇa tvat vidhānām vana okasām |
vaivasvata sutaiḥ sārdham praviṣṭha sarva mantribhiḥ ॥4-43-3॥
Translation
Surrounded by a hundred thousand forest-dwellers similar to you [in strength], along with the sons of Vaivasvata and all your ministers, enter [the northern direction].
हिंदी अनुवाद
(हे शतबलि!) तुम अपने ही समान बलशाली एक लाख वनवासियों (वानरों) से घिरकर, यमराज (वैवस्वत) के पुत्रों तथा अपने सभी मंत्रियों के साथ (उत्तर दिशा में) प्रवेश करो।
English Commentary
This verse details the composition of the search party assigned to the North. Sugriva ensures that Shatabali is not alone but supported by a massive force of one hundred thousand vanaras who match him in caliber ('tvat vidhanam'). The reference to the 'sons of Vaivasvata' (Vaivasvata is a name for Yama, the God of Death) implies that these accompanying warriors are exceptionally fierce and death-dealing to enemies. The instruction to take 'all ministers' indicates that the mission requires autonomous decision-making capabilities. Sugriva is delegating authority effectively, ensuring the northern expedition has both the brawn (soldiers) and the brains (ministers) required for success.
