रक्तोत्पल वनैः च अत्र मण्डिताः च हिरण्मयैः ।
तरुण आदित्य संकाशा भान्ति तत्र जलाशयाः ॥४-४३-४०॥
raktotpala vanaiḥ ca atra maṇḍitāḥ ca hiraṇmayaiḥ |
taruṇa āditya saṃkāśā bhānti tatra jalāśayāḥ ॥4-43-40॥
Translation
The water reservoirs there are adorned with forests of red lotuses made of gold, shining brilliantly like the rising sun.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वहाँ के जलाशय सोने के बने हुए लाल कमलों (रक्तोत्पल) के वनों से सुशोभित हैं और वे प्रातःकालीन सूर्य (बाल-सूर्य) के समान देदीप्यमान होकर चमकते हैं।
English Commentary
The imagery intensifies with the comparison of the water bodies to the taruṇa āditya (the young or rising sun). The red lotuses (raktotpala) made of gold create a visual spectacle of fiery brilliance upon the water. In Sanskrit poetics, the rising sun symbolizes hope, new beginnings, and intense, auspicious light. By describing the lakes as shining with this intensity, the poet suggests that the land is perpetually bathed in a golden, auspicious glow, distinct from the mundane lighting of the ordinary world.

यहाँ जलाशयों की शोभा का वर्णन है। 'रक्तोत्पल' (लाल कमल) जो स्वर्णमय हैं, उनकी चमक की तुलना 'तरुण आदित्य' (उगते हुए सूर्य) से की गई है। यह उपमा दृश्य को अत्यंत तेजस्वी और दिव्य बनाती है। सामान्यतः पानी शीतलता का प्रतीक है, लेकिन यहाँ कमलों की चमक के कारण जलाशय अग्नि या सूर्य के समान प्रज्वलित प्रतीत होते हैं। यह विरोधाभास (पानी में अग्नि जैसा तेज) उस स्थान के जादुई वातावरण को दर्शाता है। सुग्रीव वानरों को इन विशिष्ट चिह्नों के माध्यम से उस स्थान की पहचान बता रहे हैं।
