शयनानि प्रसूयन्ते चित्र आस्तारणवन्ति च ।
मनः कान्तानि माल्यानि फलन्ति अत्र अपरे द्रुमाः ॥४-४३-४७॥
śayanāni prasūyante citra āstaraṇavanti ca |
manaḥ kāntāni mālyāni phalanti atra apare drumāḥ ॥4-43-47॥
Translation
Other trees there produce beds furnished with beautiful coverings, and yet others yield garlands that are pleasing to the mind.

वहाँ के दूसरे वृक्ष सुंदर बिछौनों (चादरों) से युक्त पलंग (शय्या) उत्पन्न करते हैं, तथा अन्य वृक्ष मन को प्रिय लगने वाली मालाएं प्रदान करते हैं।
English Commentary
The inventory of the wishing-trees continues, now addressing the need for rest and aesthetics. The trees bear śayanāni (beds) complete with āstaraṇa (coverings/sheets), illustrating a surreal level of convenience. The production of mālyāni (garlands) "pleasing to the mind" connects to the culture of celebration and sensuality prevalent in descriptions of heavenly realms. It suggests a life dedicated entirely to leisure and sensory enjoyment.

उत्तर कुरु को 'भोग-भूमि' कहा गया है, इसलिए वहाँ आराम और विलास की वस्तुओं का प्राकृतिक रूप से उपलब्ध होना आवश्यक है। वृक्षों से 'शयनानि' (पलंग/बिस्तर) का उत्पन्न होना यह दर्शाता है कि वहाँ विश्राम के लिए किसी निर्माण कार्य की आवश्यकता नहीं है। 'मनः कान्तानि माल्यानि' (मन को भाने वाली मालाएं) सौंदर्य और सुगंध के प्रति वहाँ के निवासियों के प्रेम को दर्शाती हैं। यह श्लोक जीवन के कोमल और विलासपूर्ण पक्ष को उजागर करता है।
