Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
भगवान् तत्र विश्वात्मा शम्भुः एकादश आत्मकः ।
ब्रह्मा वसति देवेशो ब्रह्म ऋषि परिवारितः ॥४-४३-५६॥
bhagavān tatra viśvātmā śambhuḥ ekādaśa ātmakaḥ |
brahmā vasati deveśo brahma ṛṣi parivāritaḥ ॥4-43-56॥
Translation
The Lord Shambhu (Shiva), the Soul of the Universe, resides there in his eleven forms (Ekadasha Rudra). Brahma, the Lord of Devas, also dwells there, surrounded by Brahmarshis.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वहाँ विश्व की आत्मा स्वरूप भगवान शम्भु (शिव) अपने एकादश (ग्यारह) रुद्र रूपों में विराजमान हैं। साथ ही ब्रह्मर्षियों से घिरे हुए देवेश्वर ब्रह्मा भी वहीं निवास करते हैं।
English Commentary
This verse identifies Somagiri as the abode of the Supreme Trinity. It explicitly names Shambhu (Shiva) as the 'Vishvatma' (Soul of the Universe) present in his fierce Eleven Rudra manifestations. Additionally, Brahma, the Creator, resides there attended by great sages. This marks the mountain as the spiritual apex of the world, where the forces of creation (Brahma) and dissolution/transformation (Shiva) converge. It suggests that this region is the control center of cosmic order, inaccessible to the uninitiated.

यह श्लोक सोमगिरि को त्रिदेवों का निवास स्थान बताता है। यहाँ भगवान शिव को 'विश्वात्मा' और 'एकादश आत्मकः' (ग्यारह रुद्रों का स्वरूप) कहा गया है, जो संहार और पुनर्निर्माण की शक्ति का द्योतक है। साथ ही सृष्टिकर्ता ब्रह्मा का निवास भी वहीं बताया गया है। (टिप्पणी: रामायण के कुछ अन्य पाठभेदों में यहाँ भगवान विष्णु (हरि) का निवास भी बताया जाता है, परन्तु प्रस्तुत श्लोक स्पष्ट रूप से शम्भु और ब्रह्मा का उल्लेख करता है)। यह स्थान तप और शक्ति का परम केंद्र है।
