एताम् बुद्धिम् समास्थाय दृश्यते जानकी यथा ।
तथा भवद्भिः कर्तव्यम् अस्मत् प्रिय हित एषिभिः ॥४-४३-८॥
etām buddhim samāsthāya dṛśyate jānakī yathā |
tathā bhavadbhiḥ kartavyam asmat priya hita eṣibhiḥ ॥4-43-8॥
Translation
Holding firm to this mindset, you, who wish for our dear welfare, must act in such a way that Janaki is found.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(अतः) इस विचार (बुद्धि) को धारण करके, तुम लोग जो मेरा प्रिय और हित चाहते हो, ऐसा प्रयत्न करो जिससे जानकी (सीता) का पता चल सके।
English Commentary
Having established the ethical foundation, Sugriva now commands action based on that mindset ('buddhim samasthaya'). He connects the soldiers' loyalty to him directly to the success of the mission. By addressing them as those who 'wish for our dear welfare,' he implies that proving their loyalty to Sugriva necessitates finding Sita. The use of the name 'Janaki' (daughter of Janaka) reminds them of her royal lineage. The core instruction is pragmatic: act in whatever way is necessary ('tatha... kartavyam') to ensure she is discovered, driven by the moral clarity previously explained.

सुग्रीव अब दर्शन और नीति से हटकर कार्य-योजना (Action) पर आते हैं। 'एताम् बुद्धिम् समास्थाय' का अर्थ है कि पिछले श्लोकों में बताई गई कृतज्ञता और धर्म की भावना को मन में स्थिर करके ही खोज पर निकलो। बिना सही मनोभाव के कार्य में सफलता संदिग्ध होती है। वे वानरों को 'अस्मत् प्रिय हित एषिभिः' (हमारा प्रिय और हित चाहने वाले) कहकर संबोधित करते हैं, जो यह दर्शाता है कि यदि वानर सुग्रीव के प्रति वफादार हैं, तो उन्हें सीता को खोजना ही होगा। राजा के प्रति वफादारी और राम के प्रति कर्तव्य को यहाँ एक कर दिया गया है।
