विशेषेण तु सुग्रीवो हनूमति अर्थम् उक्तवान् ।
स हि तस्मिन् हरि श्रेष्ठे निश्चितार्थो अर्थ साधने ॥४-४४-१॥
viśeṣeṇa tu sugrīvo hanūmati artham uktavān |
sa hi tasmin hari śreṣṭhe niścitārtho artha sādhane ॥4-44-1॥
Translation
Sugriva spoke of the task specifically to Hanuman, for he was absolutely convinced of that best among monkeys' (Hanuman's) ability to accomplish the objective.

(अब विशेष निर्देश): सुग्रीव ने विशेष रूप से हनुमान से अपना प्रयोजन कहा, क्योंकि उस वानर श्रेष्ठ (हनुमान) के द्वारा कार्य सिद्ध होने के विषय में वे पूर्णतः निश्चित (आश्वस्त) थे।
English Commentary
This marks the beginning of Sarga 44 and a pivot from general strategy to specific tactical reliance. The text notes that Sugriva addressed Hanuman 'visheshena' (specially/specifically). The rationale is 'nishchitartho'—Sugriva had settled in his mind that if anyone could achieve the 'artha' (goal), it was Hanuman. This delineates the difference between the rank-and-file army and the elite operative. It sets the stage for the special ring-giving ceremony (which follows in later verses).
