Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तम् समीक्ष्य महातेजा व्यवसायोत्तरम् हरिम् ।
कृतार्थ इव संहृष्टः प्रहृष्ट इन्द्रिय मानसः ॥ ॥४-४४-११॥
tam samīkṣya mahātejā vyavasāyottaram harim |
kṛtārtha iva saṃhṛṣṭaḥ prahṛṣṭa indriya mānasaḥ ॥4-44-11॥
Translation
Observing that Vanara (Hanuman), who was supremely resolute in his endeavor, the highly resplendent Rama felt overjoyed, as if his objective were already accomplished. His senses and mind were filled with delight.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस दृढ़ निश्चयी वानर (हनुमान) को देखकर महातेजस्वी श्री राम ऐसे प्रसन्न हुए मानो उनका कार्य सिद्ध हो गया हो। उनके मन और इन्द्रियां अत्यंत प्रफुल्लित हो उठीं।
English Commentary
This verse captures a profound moment of intuitive trust between the Lord and his devotee. Rama is described as Mahateja (greatly resplendent), implying his ability to perceive the inner essence of beings. Upon seeing Hanuman's Vyavasaya (resolute determination), Rama feels a sense of Kritartha—success achieved before the act is even performed. It highlights that in spiritual and heroic endeavors, the purity of resolve often guarantees the outcome. Rama’s delight (Prahrishta) stems not just from hope, but from the recognition of Hanuman’s competence. It suggests that finding the right instrument for a mission is half the battle won. The verse sets the stage for the special task Rama is about to entrust specifically to Hanuman, distinct from the other Vanara chiefs.

इस श्लोक में श्री राम की अंतर्दृष्टि और हनुमान जी के प्रति उनके विश्वास का सुंदर चित्रण है। 'व्यवसायी' का अर्थ है उद्यमी या निश्चयी, किन्तु यहाँ 'व्यवसायोत्तरम्' का प्रयोग यह दर्शाता है कि हनुमान जी का संकल्प साधारण नहीं, बल्कि सर्वोच्च स्तर का है। श्री राम 'महातेजा' हैं, वे पात्र की योग्यता को तुरंत पहचान लेते हैं। अभी कार्य (सीता की खोज) प्रारंभ भी नहीं हुआ है, फिर भी हनुमान जी के आत्मविश्वास और भाव-भंगिमा को देखकर राम को 'कृतार्थ इव' (मानो कार्य हो गया हो) की अनुभूति होती है। यह एक नेता और उसके सर्वोत्तम दूत के बीच के मौन संवाद को दर्शाता है, जहाँ शब्द कम और भाव अधिक हैं। राम का मन और इन्द्रियां इसलिए प्रफुल्लित हैं क्योंकि उन्हें अंततः एक ऐसा माध्यम मिल गया है जो उनकी विरह-वेदना का समाचार सीता तक पहुँचाने में सक्षम है।
