व्यवसायः च ते वीर सत्त्व युक्तः च विक्रमः ।
सुग्रीवस्य च संदेशः सिद्धिम् कथयति इव मे ॥ ॥४-४४-१४॥
vyavasāyaḥ ca te vīra sattva yuktaḥ ca vikramaḥ |
sugrīvasya ca saṃdeśaḥ siddhim kathayati iva me ॥4-44-14॥
Translation
O Hero! Your determination, your valor combined with strength, and the command of Sugriva—all these seem to foretell the success of my mission.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे वीर! तुम्हारा निश्चय, तुम्हारा बल और पराक्रम, तथा सुग्रीव का आदेश—ये सब मुझे मेरी कार्य-सिद्धि की सूचना दे रहे हैं।
English Commentary
Rama analyzes the factors that guarantee success. He identifies a triad of virtues in Hanuman: Vyavasaya (resolve/industry), Sattva (purity/strength of character), and Vikrama (valor). Crucially, he adds a fourth factor: Sugrivasya ca sandeshah (Sugriva’s command). This acknowledges the strict administrative structure governing the Vanaras—fear of the King and personal capability work in tandem. Rama expresses a precognition of success (Siddhim), validating Hanuman as the chosen instrument. It serves as a tremendous morale booster for Hanuman, who is about to undertake a nearly impossible leap across the ocean (though he doesn't know the full extent of the geography yet).

श्री राम यहाँ सफलता के चार स्तंभों को रेखांकित कर रहे हैं: व्यवसाय (निश्चय), सत्त्व (आंतरिक बल या धैर्य), विक्रम (पराक्रम), और सुग्रीव का संदेश (राजानुशासन)। केवल बल पर्याप्त नहीं है, उसके साथ 'व्यवसाय' (संकल्प) और 'सत्त्व' (सात्विक बुद्धि) का होना आवश्यक है। राम हनुमान में इन तीनों का संगम देखते हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त, 'सुग्रीवस्य च संदेशः' का उल्लेख करके राम यह भी स्पष्ट करते हैं कि राजा की आज्ञा का पालन भी वानरों को प्रेरित करेगा। राम का यह कथन 'सिद्धिम् कथयति इव' (मानो सफलता कह रहे हों) हनुमान के लिए एक बड़ा आशीर्वाद और प्रेरणा है। यह श्लोक यह भी सिखाता है कि किसी भी बड़े कार्य की सिद्धि के लिए व्यक्तिगत योग्यता और अनुशासित नेतृत्व दोनों आवश्यक हैं।
