भू तले सागरे वा अपि शैलेषु च वनेषु च ।
पातालस्य अपि वा मध्ये न मम आच्छिद्यते गतिः ॥ ॥४-४५-१६॥
bhū tale sāgare vā api śaileṣu ca vaneṣu ca |
pātālasya api vā madhye na mama ācchidyate gatiḥ ॥4-45-16॥
Translation
"On the surface of the earth, in the ocean, among mountains or forests, or even within the netherworld—my movement is never obstructed."
हिंदी अनुवाद
(एक अन्य वानर कहता है) "पृथ्वी तल पर, समुद्र में, पर्वतों पर, वनों में अथवा पाताल के मध्य में भी मेरी गति (चाल/प्रवेश) कभी नहीं रुकती।"
English Commentary
The boast here focuses on Gati—movement, speed, or access. The warrior claims to be an all-terrain vehicle of sorts, unstoppable on land (Bhu tale), sea (Sagare), or difficult topography (Shaileshu - mountains). The phrase Na mama acchidyate gatih (my movement is not cut/stopped) implies a supernatural ability to traverse elements. This is crucial for the mission, as Ravana is known to be a master of illusion and hiding. The claim of unhindered access suggests that there is no sanctuary where the enemy can hide Sita from them.

यह वानर अपनी 'अबाध गति' का दावा कर रहा है। 'न आच्छिद्यते गतिः' (गति नहीं कटती/रुकती) का अर्थ है कि उसके लिए कोई भी भौगोलिक बाधा (Geographical Barrier) मायने नहीं रखती। चाहे वह जल (सागर) हो, थल (पर्वत/वन) हो, या रसातल (पाताल) हो—वह सर्वत्र जा सकता है। एक गुप्तचर (Spy) या खोजी (Searcher) के लिए यह सबसे बड़ा गुण है। सीता कहीं भी छिपाई गई हों, ऐसा वानर वहां पहुंचने में सक्षम है। यह कथन उस अदम्य इच्छाशक्ति का प्रतीक है जो खोज अभियान के लिए अनिवार्य है।
