तम् प्रस्रवण पृष्ठस्थम् समासाद्य अभिवाद्य च ।
आसीनम् सह रामेण सुग्रीवम् इदम् अब्रुवन् ॥४-४७-१०॥
tam prasravaṇa pṛṣṭhastham samāsādya abhivādya ca । āsīnam saha rāmeṇa sugrīvam idam abruvan ॥4-47-10॥
Translation
Approaching Sugriva, who was seated on the peak of Prasravana mountain with Rama, and offering their salutations, they spoke thus.

प्रस्रवण पर्वत के शिखर (या पठार) पर राम के साथ बैठे हुए सुग्रीव के पास पहुँचकर और प्रणाम करके, उन्होंने यह कहा।
English Commentary
The setting for the debriefing is the plateau or peak (prishthastham) of Mount Prasravana. Sugriva is seated with Rama, highlighting the alliance and the shared burden of anxiety. The returning commanders approach and offer salutations (abhivadya) before speaking. The presence of Rama adds weight to their failure; they are not just reporting to their king, but to the divine hero whose wife they failed to find. This verse sets the stage for their formal statement of inability to locate Sita.

यह दृश्य बहुत मार्मिक है। राम और सुग्रीव प्रस्रवण पर्वत पर बैठे प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं। 'सह रामेण' (राम के साथ) बैठे सुग्रीव को देखकर वानर नेताओं को अपनी असफलता बताने में और भी संकोच हो रहा होगा। उन्होंने प्रोटोकॉल का पालन करते हुए पहले 'अभिवाद्य' (अभिवादन/प्रणाम) किया। वे सामूहिक रूप से अपनी रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत कर रहे हैं। 'प्रस्रवण पृष्ठस्थम्' का अर्थ पर्वत की पीठ या ऊपरी समतल भाग है। यह स्थान अब एक 'War Room' जैसा बन गया है जहाँ से अभियान का संचालन हो रहा था।
