विचिन्त्य दिवसम् सर्वे सीता अधिगमने धृताः ।
समायान्ति स्म मेदिन्याम् निशा कालेषु वानराः ॥४-४७-४॥
vicintya divasam sarve sītā adhigamane dhṛtāḥ । samāyānti sma medinyām niśā kāleṣu vānarāḥ ॥4-47-4॥
Translation
Having searched throughout the day, those monkeys, firmly resolved to find Sita, would gather together on the ground at nightfall.

दिन भर खोज करने के बाद, सीता की प्राप्ति में दृढ़ संकल्पित वे सभी वानर रात्रि के समय पृथ्वी पर (विश्राम के लिए) एक साथ मिल जाते थे।
English Commentary
This verse illustrates the daily routine and tactical discipline of the search parties. Sita adhigamane dhritah indicates their focused resolve. The strategy described is classic search-and-rescue: fan out during the day to cover maximum ground, and regroup (samayanti) at night. Gathering at night served multiple purposes: safety in numbers against nocturnal predators or demons, accounting for all personnel, and sharing intelligence gathered during the day's search. It shows that despite their animal nature, they operated with organized military protocols.

यह श्लोक वानर सेना की दिनचर्या और अनुशासन का चित्रण करता है। 'सीता अधिगमने धृताः' बताता है कि उनका एकमात्र लक्ष्य सीता को पाना था और वे अपने संकल्प में अडिग थे। दिन भर अलग-अलग दिशाओं में फैलकर खोजने के बाद, रात में वे 'समायान्ति स्म' (इकट्ठे होते थे)। यह एक सामरिक (tactical) कदम था—रात में जंगली जानवरों या राक्षसों से सुरक्षा के लिए समूह में रहना आवश्यक था, और यह उन्हें दिन भर की खोज की जानकारी साझा करने (debriefing) का अवसर भी देता था। वे आकाश या पेड़ों पर नहीं, बल्कि 'मेदिन्याम्' (भूमि पर) एकत्र होते थे, शायद सुरक्षा घेरा बनाने के लिए।
