वनानि गिरयो नद्यो दुर्गाणि गहनानि च ।
दरी गिरि गुहाः चैव विचिता नः समंततः ॥ ॥४-४९-२॥
vanāni girayo nadyo durgāṇi gahanāni ca |
darī giri guhāḥ caiva vicitā naḥ samaṃtataḥ ॥4-49-2॥
Translation
"Forests, mountains, rivers, difficult terrains, thickets, valleys, and mountain caves have been searched by us everywhere."

"हमने वनों, पर्वतों, नदियों, दुर्गम स्थानों, सघन जंगलों, कंदराओं और पर्वत की गुफाओं को सब ओर से अच्छी तरह छान मारा है।"
English Commentary
Angada begins his address by validating the team's efforts. He lists the arduous terrains they have covered—forests, mountains, rivers, and caves. By acknowledging that the search has been comprehensive ('Samantatah'), he aligns himself with the troops, confirming that their failure is not due to a lack of effort. This factual recapitulation serves as a premise for the hard reality he is about to present regarding the passage of time.

अंगद अपनी बात की शुरुआत वास्तविकता को स्वीकार करते हुए करते हैं। वे उन सभी स्थानों की सूची गिनाते हैं जहाँ उन्होंने प्रयास किया है—नदी, पहाड़, गुफाएँ और दुर्गम वन। यह कथन दल के परिश्रम को मान्यता देता है। वे यह नहीं कह रहे कि वानरों ने कामचोरी की है, बल्कि यह स्वीकार कर रहे हैं कि 'विचितम्' (खोज) पूरी निष्ठा से की गई है। यह उनके साथियों का विश्वास जीतने का एक तरीका है।
