तत्र तत्र सह अस्माभिः जानकी न च दृश्यते ।
तथा रक्षः अपहर्ता च सीतायाः चैव दुष्कृती ॥ ॥४-४९-३॥
tatra tatra saha asmābhiḥ jānakī na ca dṛśyate |
tathā rakṣaḥ apahartā ca sītāyāḥ caiva duṣkṛtī ॥4-49-3॥
Translation
"Here and there (in all those places), neither Janaki (Sita) is seen by us, nor that wicked demon who abducted Sita."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"वहां-वहां (उन सभी स्थानों पर) हम लोगों ने न तो जानकी को देखा और न ही सीता का अपहरण करने वाले उस दुराचारी राक्षस को।"
English Commentary
Following the validation of effort, Angada states the grim result: zero success. Neither the victim ('Janaki') nor the perpetrator ('Dushkriti' - the doer of evil deeds) has been found. This frank admission eliminates any false hope that they might have missed something in the previous locations. It forces the Vanaras to confront the reality that their current strategy has yielded nothing, preparing them for the urgency of the next verses.

यहाँ परिणाम की शून्यता बताई गई है। इतनी मेहनत के बाद भी दो मुख्य लक्ष्य—'जानकी' (सीता) और 'दुष्कृती' (पापी) रावण—दोनों ही नहीं मिले। अंगद स्पष्ट रूप से स्थिति की गंभीरता को सामने रख रहे हैं। 'सह अस्माभिः' (हम सबने मिलकर) का प्रयोग कर वे जिम्मेदारी को साझा कर रहे हैं, किसी एक पर दोष नहीं मढ़ रहे। यह सामूहिक विफलता की स्वीकृति है जो आगे की कार्ययोजना के लिए आवश्यक है।
