हनुमत् प्रमुखाः ते तु प्रस्थिताः प्लवग ऋषभाः ।
विंध्यम् एव आदितः कृत्वा विचेरुः ते समंततः ॥ ॥४-४९-२२॥
hanumat pramukhāḥ te tu prasthitāḥ plavaga ṛṣabhāḥ |
vindhyam eva āditaḥ kṛtvā viceruḥ te samaṃtataḥ ॥4-49-22॥
Translation
With Hanuman at their head, those excellent monkeys set forth. Making the Vindhya mountain their starting point, they roamed everywhere.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हनुमान जी को प्रमुख (नेता) बनाकर वे वानर-श्रेष्ठ प्रस्थान कर गए। उन्होंने विन्ध्य पर्वत को ही आदि (आरंभ) मानकर सब ओर विचरण किया।
English Commentary
A subtle but critical shift in leadership dynamics occurs here: 'Hanumat pramukhah' (Hanuman as the chief/frontman). While Angada is the crown prince, Hanuman is the strategic executor. As the search becomes more desperate, the text foregrounds Hanuman, foreshadowing his pivotal role in the success to come. Using the Vindhya range as a baseline ('Aditah'), they systematically fan out ('Vicheruh'), signaling a more directed and powered search under Hanuman's guidance.

यहाँ कथा में एक महत्वपूर्ण मोड़ आता है। अब तक अंगद नेतृत्व कर रहे थे, लेकिन अब 'हनुमत् प्रमुखाः' (हनुमान को आगे करके) का उल्लेख है। यह संकेत है कि कठिन कार्यों के लिए हनुमान जी की बुद्धि और बल की आवश्यकता है। वानरों ने विन्ध्य को केंद्र बिंदु ('आदितः') मानकर नए सिरे से खोज शुरू की। हनुमान का प्रमुखता में आना सफलता की ओर पहला कदम है।
