Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तयोर् मध्ये तु सुप्रीतो निदधौ सुसमाहितः ।
ततो अग्निम् दीप्यमानम् तौ चक्रतुः च प्रदक्षिणम् ॥ ॥४-५-१५॥
Tayor madhye tu suprīto nidadhau susamāhitaḥ । Tato agnim dīpyamānam tau cakratuḥ ca pradakṣiṇam ॥ ॥4-5-15॥
Translation
With great joy and concentration, Hanuman placed that fire between the two of them. Then, they both circumambulated the blazing fire.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अत्यंत प्रसन्न और एकाग्रचित्त होकर हनुमान ने उस अग्नि को उन दोनों (राम और सुग्रीव) के बीच में स्थापित किया। तदनंतर उन दोनों ने उस प्रज्वलित अग्नि की परिक्रमा की।
English Commentary
Hanuman places the fire centrally, symbolizing that Dharma and Agni now stand between Rama and Sugriva as the binding force. The act of Pradakshina (circumambulation) is a solemn ritual act. By walking around the fire together, they are ritually sealing their bond. In Indian ethos, a friendship forged around fire is unbreakable. It creates a spiritual kinship equal to blood relations. This moment is the foundation upon which the entire war against Ravana will eventually rest.

यह श्लोक 'अग्नि-साक्षी' मित्रता का वर्णन करता है। हनुमान जी ने अग्नि को दोनों के मध्य रखा, जो यह दर्शाता है कि अग्नि ही उनके संबंध का केंद्र और माध्यम है। राम और सुग्रीव ने अग्नि की परिक्रमा (फेरे) की, ठीक वैसे ही जैसे विवाह संस्कार में वधु और वर करते हैं। यह क्रिया उनके दो शरीरों और दो आत्माओं के एकीकरण का प्रतीक है। इस परिक्रमा के साथ, उनका सुख-दुख साझा हो गया। इसे 'सख्य भक्ति' का एक उच्चतम उदाहरण माना जाता है।
