तस्मिन् वालिनि दुर्वृत्ते निपतिष्यन्ति वेगिताः ।
कन्क पत्र प्रतिच्छन्ना महेन्द्र अशनि संनिभाः ॥ ॥४-५-२७॥
Tasmin Vālini durvṛtte nipatiṣyanti vegitāḥ । Kanka patra praticchannā Mahendra aśani saṃnibhāḥ ॥ ॥4-5-27॥
Translation
"Covered with the feathers of Kanka birds and resembling the thunderbolt of Mahendra (Indra), these arrows will fall with great speed upon that evil-conducted Vali."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"कंक पक्षी के पंखों से युक्त और इंद्र के वज्र के समान मेरे ये बाण उस दुराचारी बाली पर तीव्र वेग से गिरेंगे।"
English Commentary
Rama continues to describe his weaponry to instill confidence. The arrows are fletched with Kanka feathers for stability and speed. He compares their impact to Indra’s Vajra (thunderbolt). This is poetic justice and irony, as Vali is the biological son of Indra. By labeling Vali as Durvritta (of evil conduct), Rama reiterates that this is a punitive action against adharma, not just a favor.

राम अपने शस्त्रों का वर्णन करते हैं। 'कंक पत्र' (बाज या बगुले के पंख) बाणों की गति और संतुलन के लिए लगाए जाते थे। वे बाणों की तुलना 'महेन्द्र अशनि' (इंद्र के वज्र) से करते हैं। यह एक सूक्ष्म विडंबना है, क्योंकि बाली इंद्र का ही पुत्र है, और राम इंद्र के वज्र जैसे बाणों से ही उसका अंत करने का वचन दे रहे हैं। राम बाली को 'दुर्वृत्ते' (बुरा आचरण करने वाला) कहते हैं, जो वध को नैतिक आधार देता है।
