महत् धरण्या विवरम् प्रविष्टाः स्म पिपासिताः ।
इमाम् तु एवम् विधान् भावान् विविधान् अद्भुत उपमान् ॥ ॥४-५१-३॥
mahat dharaṇyā vivaram praviṣṭāḥ sma pipāsitāḥ । imām tu evam vidhān bhāvān vividhān adbhuta upamān ॥ ॥4-51-3॥
Translation
"Being thirsty, we entered this great cavity in the earth. But here, (seeing) these various kinds of wonderful and incomparable objects..."

English Commentary
Hanuman recounts the sequence of events: the physical need (thirst) led them into the 'great cavity' of the earth. However, the outcome was unexpected. He describes the objects found as 'adbhuta' (wonderful) and lacking comparison ('upamana'). This admission serves two purposes: it reiterates their innocent intent and honestly expresses their awe at her domain. It sets the stage for him to ask about the origin of these miracles, bridging their survival needs with their curiosity about the supernatural environment.
