इमे जांबूनदमयाः पादपाः कस्य तेजसा ।
कांचनानि च पद्मानि जातानि विमले जले ॥ ॥४-५१-७॥
ime jāmbūnadamayāḥ pādapāḥ kasya tejasā । kāñcanāni ca padmāni jātāni vimale jale ॥ ॥4-51-7॥
Translation
"By whose spiritual power do these golden trees exist here? And whose are these golden lotuses growing in the clear water?"
हिंदी अनुवाद
"ये सोने के वृक्ष किसके तेज (प्रभाव) से यहाँ हैं? और निर्मल जल में उत्पन्न हुए ये सोने के कमल किसके हैं?"
English Commentary
This verse strikes at the metaphysical root of the phenomenon. Hanuman asks "Kasya tejasa" (By whose power/luster?). He recognizes that biology and botany usually require sunlight; therefore, golden trees and lotuses blooming in a dark cave defy natural laws. They must be sustained by someone's Tejas (spiritual or magical potency). He acknowledges that this environment is a projection of power. By asking this, he pays a compliment to the creator while seeking the critical information needed to navigate this domain safely.

हनुमान जी का अंतिम प्रश्न सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है—'कस्य तेजसा' (किसके तेज से?)। वे जानते हैं कि सूर्य के प्रकाश के बिना भूमिगत गुफा में वृक्ष और कमल जीवित नहीं रह सकते। अतः, यह किसी महान तपस्वी या मायावी का 'तेज' ही है जो सूर्य का कार्य कर रहा है और इस सृष्टि को जीवित रखे हुए है। 'विमले जले' (निर्मल जल) का उल्लेख वानरों की प्यास के संदर्भ में सुखद है। हनुमान जी भौतिक वस्तुओं के पीछे की आध्यात्मिक या जादुई शक्ति (Cause behind the Effect) को पहचानने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं।
