साधु अत्र प्रविशाम इति मया तु उक्ताः प्लवंगमाः ।
तेषाम् अपि हि सर्वेषाम् अनुमानम् उपागतम् ॥ ॥४-५२-१३॥
sādhu atra praviśāma iti mayā tu uktāḥ plavaṃgamāḥ । teṣām api hi sarveṣām anumānam upāgatam ॥ ॥4-52-13॥
Translation
"Let us enter here properly," I said to the monkeys. And indeed, that inference (logic) was accepted by all of them as well.
हिंदी अनुवाद
"अतः हम यहाँ भली-भांति प्रवेश करें," ऐसा मैंने (हनुमान ने) वानरों से कहा। उन सभी वानरों को भी मेरा यह अनुमान (तर्क) उचित लगा।
English Commentary
Hanuman clarifies to Swayamprabha that the decision to enter the formidable cave was based on collective logic, spearheaded by his own suggestion. The word 'sādhu' here implies 'properly' or 'wisely,' suggesting that under the dire circumstances of dehydration and hunger, entering the cave was deemed the only logical course of action. Hanuman displays leadership by owning the suggestion ("said by me"), but also highlights group cohesion ("accepted by all"). The phrase anumānam upāgatam indicates that the monkeys did not just blindly follow; they intellectually agreed with the inference that water must be present inside, justifying the risk.

हनुमान यहाँ स्वयंप्रभा को स्पष्ट कर रहे हैं कि इस दुर्गम गुफा में प्रवेश करने का निर्णय उनका व्यक्तिगत हठ नहीं, अपितु एक सामूहिक सहमति थी। 'साधु' शब्द यहाँ 'उचित' या 'भली-भांति' के अर्थ में प्रयुक्त हुआ है। हनुमान एक कुशल नेता की भांति जिम्मेदारी लेते हुए कहते हैं कि प्रस्ताव उन्होंने रखा था, किन्तु 'अनुमानम् उपागतम्'—अर्थात् परिस्थिति को देखते हुए अन्य वानरों ने भी इसे तर्कसंगत मानकर स्वीकार किया। यह श्लोक वानर दल की लोकतांत्रिक कार्यप्रणाली और हनुमान के नेतृत्व पर उनके विश्वास को दर्शाता है। वे भूख-प्यास से इतने व्याकुल थे कि अन्धकारमय गुफा में प्रवेश करना ही उन्हें एकमात्र 'साधु' (सही) विकल्प प्रतीत हुआ।
