English Commentary
This verse encapsulates the essence of ascetic detachment. Swayamprabha declines the offer by stating that while practicing her dharma, she has no kāryam (business/need) with anyone. This is the definition of self-sufficiency in Yoga—having no desires that others need to fulfill. The narrator validates her stance by calling her speech śubham (auspicious) and dharma saṃhitam (endowed with righteousness). It highlights that her hospitality was pure, unmotivated by potential gain, standing in contrast to the transactional nature of worldly interactions.
