सा त्वम् अस्मात् बिलात् अस्मान् उत्तारयितुम् अर्हसि ।
तस्मात् सुग्रीव वचनात् अतिक्रान्तान् गत आयुषः ॥ ॥४-५२-२३॥
sā tvam asmāt bilāt asmān uttārayitum arhasi । tasmāt sugrīva vacanāt atikrāntān gata āyuṣaḥ ॥ ॥4-52-23॥
Translation
"Therefore, you ought to help us cross out of this cave. Having transgressed Sugriva's command, our lives are essentially gone."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"अतः आप हम लोगों को इस बिल से पार उतारने (निकालने) की कृपा करें। सुग्रीव के उस वचन (आदेश) का उल्लंघन करने के कारण हमारी आयु समाप्त हो चुकी है (हम मृत्यु के पात्र बन गए हैं)।"
English Commentary
Hanuman explicitly states his request: deliver us from this cave. The logic provided is stark. He describes the group as gata āyuṣaḥ (those whose life span is gone/forfeit). Because they have exceeded the time limit (atikrāntān), they consider themselves already dead under Sugriva's law. This emphasizes that staying in the cave offers safety and food, but implies spiritual and physical death (failure of duty and execution). Only by exiting immediately do they have a sliver of hope to redeem their lives.

यहाँ हनुमान जी याचना की पराकाष्ठा पर हैं। वे स्वयंप्रभा से कहते हैं कि वे उन्हें 'उत्तारयितुम्' (पार लगाने/निकालने) के योग्य हैं। श्लोक का दूसरा भाग अत्यंत गंभीर है—'गत आयुषः' (जिनकी आयु चली गई है)। हनुमान का तात्पर्य है कि सुग्रीव की आज्ञा का उल्लंघन होते ही तकनीकी रूप से वे मृत समान हैं। केवल यदि वे अभी तत्काल बाहर निकलकर सीता की खोज कर लें, तभी उनके प्राण बच सकते हैं। यह जीवन और मृत्यु के बीच फसे हुए वीर की पुकार है, जो स्वयं अपनी शक्ति से इस जादुई गुफा से नहीं निकल सकता।
