English Commentary
Hanuman highlights a crucial spiritual dilemma: comfort versus duty. He admits that iha vāsibhiḥ (by residing here) amidst plenty, the mission remains unfulfilled. This acknowledges that the cave, while a sanctuary for the body, was a prison for their purpose. By explicitly stating that their task is undone, Hanuman signals that they are ready to trade the safety of the cave for the risks of the outside world to fulfill their dharma. Swayamprabha’s response is triggered by this dedication.

हनुमान यहाँ पिछली बात को ही आगे बढ़ाते हुए एक महत्वपूर्ण विरोधाभास उजागर करते हैं। यद्यपि गुफा में भोजन और जल उपलब्ध था, परन्तु 'इह वासिभिः' (यहाँ रहने वालों के द्वारा) राम का कार्य सिद्ध नहीं हो रहा था। सुख-सुविधा और कर्तव्य-पालन के बीच का यह द्वंद्व अत्यंत स्पष्ट है। हनुमान स्वीकार करते हैं कि भौतिक सुखों में फंसकर उद्देश्य विस्मृत हो जाता है। उनकी ईमानदारी और कर्तव्यनिष्ठा को देखकर तपस्विनी प्रभावित होती हैं और उत्तर देने के लिए उद्यत होती हैं। यह श्लोक संवाद को निष्कर्ष की ओर ले जाता है।
