जीवता दुष्करम् मन्ये प्रविष्टेन निवर्तितुम् ।
तपसः सुप्रभावेन नियम उपार्जितेन च ॥ ॥४-५२-२६॥
jīvatā duṣkaram manye praviṣṭena nivartitum । tapasaḥ suprabhāvena niyama upārjitena ca ॥ ॥4-52-26॥
Translation
"I consider it difficult for anyone who has entered here to return alive. [However,] by the excellent power of my penance and the merit acquired through self-discipline..."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"मैं मानती हूँ कि (इस गुफा में) प्रविष्ट हुए किसी भी व्यक्ति का जीवित लौटना दुष्कर (असंभव) है। किन्तु (मैं तुम्हें) अपने तप के श्रेष्ठ प्रभाव और नियमों के पालन से अर्जित शक्ति द्वारा (बाहर निकालूँगी)।"
English Commentary
Swayamprabha asserts the supernatural nature of the cave. She states that for anyone who has entered (praviṣṭena), exiting alive is duṣkaram (difficult/impossible). This confirms the Vanaras were truly trapped. However, she juxtaposes this impossibility with the power of tapas (penance) and niyama (strict vows). By invoking her accumulated spiritual merit (upārjitena), she prepares to perform a miracle. This highlights a key theme in the epic: spiritual merit is a tangible currency that can be spent to alter reality or save others.

स्वयंप्रभा यहाँ अपनी गुफा की अभेद्य प्रकृति और अपनी आध्यात्मिक शक्ति का परिचय देती हैं। 'जीवता दुष्करम्' (जीवित लौटना कठिन है) कहकर वह बताती हैं कि यह कोई साधारण गुफा नहीं, अपितु मय दानव की मायावी रचना है जहाँ से निकलना नश्वर प्राणियों के वश में नहीं। परन्तु, वह 'तपसः सुप्रभावेन' (तप के प्रभाव से) उस माया को काटने में सक्षम हैं। यह श्लोक सिद्ध करता है कि सात्विक तपस्या की शक्ति किसी भी आसुरी माया या भौतिक बाधा से श्रेष्ठ होती है। वह अपने 'नियम' (अनुशासन) का पुण्य वानरों की रक्षा के लिए व्यय करने को तैयार हैं।
