न हि अहम् ते इमे सर्वे साम दान आदिभिः गुणैः ।
दण्डेन न त्वया शक्याः सुग्रीवात् अपकर्षितुम् ॥ ॥४-५४-११॥
na hi aham te ime sarve sāma dāna ādibhiḥ guṇaiḥ । daṇḍena na tvayā śakyāḥ sugrīvāt apakarṣitum ॥ ॥4-54-11॥
Translation
"Neither I nor all these can be drawn away from Sugriva by you through the expedients of conciliation, gifts, etc., or even by force."
हिंदी अनुवाद
न तो मैं और न ही ये सब (जाम्बवान आदि), साम, दान आदि उपायों से अथवा दंड (बल) के द्वारा ही तुम्हारे द्वारा सुग्रीव से अलग किए जा सकते हैं।
English Commentary
This verse is a declaration of absolute loyalty to the crown. Hanuman tells Angada that no amount of diplomacy (Sama), bribery (Dana), or threat of force (Danda) can detach the core leadership from Sugriva. This is the final nail in the coffin of the rebellion. Angada might have thought he could persuade the elders or bribe them with the treasures of the cave, but Hanuman categorically denies this possibility. By stating that they cannot be "drawn away" (apakarshitum), Hanuman asserts the stability of the current regime. It reinforces the idea that legitimate power resides with Sugriva, and any attempt to undermine it is futile.
हिंदी टीका
यहाँ हनुमान जी अंगद की सभी राजनीतिक और सैन्य संभावनाओं के द्वार बंद कर देते हैं। वे कहते हैं कि राजनीति के चारों उपाय (साम, दाम, दंड, भेद) हमारे ऊपर व्यर्थ हैं। न तुम हमें बातों से फंसा सकते हो, न धन का लालच दे सकते हो, और न ही ताकत से झुका सकते हो। हमारी निष्ठा सुग्रीव के प्रति अटल है। 'सुग्रीवात् अपकर्षितुम्' (सुग्रीव से अलग करना) असंभव है। यह कथन अंगद को यह बताने के लिए है कि सुग्रीव का प्रशासन और उनके वफादार कितने मजबूत हैं। एक युवा राजकुमार, जिसके पास न धन है और न राज्य, वह अनुभवी और निष्ठावान मंत्रियों को नहीं खरीद सकता। यह पूर्ण समर्पण का उद्घोष है।
