याम् च इमाम् मन्यसे धात्रीम् एतत् बिलम् इति श्रुतम् ।
एतत् लक्ष्मण बाणानाम् ईषत् कार्यम् विदारणे ॥ ॥४-५४-१३॥
yām ca imām manyase dhātrīm etat bilam iti śrutam । etat lakṣmaṇa bāṇānām īṣat kāryam vidāraṇe ॥ ॥4-54-13॥
Translation
"This cave, which you consider a protector (like a mother) and a refuge—splitting it asunder is a trivial task for Lakshmana's arrows."
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिस गुफा को तुम अपनी रक्षा करने वाली (धात्री) मान रहे हो, इस बिल (गुफा) को भेद कर नष्ट करना लक्ष्मण के बाणों के लिए बहुत छोटा सा कार्य है।
English Commentary
Hanuman delivers the coup de grâce to Angada's resistance. Angada was relying on the magical impregnability of the Swayamprabha Cave as his strategic defense. Hanuman dismisses this defense by invoking the divine power of Lakshmana. He does not mention Sugriva here, but Lakshmana, whose martial prowess is feared by all. By stating that tearing this cave apart is a "trivial task" (ishat karyam) for Lakshmana's arrows, Hanuman instills absolute terror. He strips Angada of his physical security, just as he stripped him of his political and military support. The message is clear: there is no fortress in the world that can protect you from the wrath of Rama and Lakshmana.

यह अंतिम और सबसे भयानक चेतावनी है। अंगद को विश्वास था कि 'ऋक्षबिल' (मैदानव की गुफा) अभेद्य है और सुग्रीव यहाँ प्रवेश नहीं कर सकते। हनुमान जी इस भ्रम को चूर-चूर कर देते हैं। वे सुग्रीव का नहीं, बल्कि 'लक्ष्मण' का नाम लेते हैं। लक्ष्मण का क्रोध और उनके बाणों की शक्ति जगजाहिर है। हनुमान कहते हैं कि यह गुफा लक्ष्मण के लिए 'ईषत् कार्यम्' (मामूली काम) है। वे इसे क्षण भर में नष्ट कर देंगे। यहाँ हनुमान जी ने शारीरिक सुरक्षा के अंतिम कवच को भी बेकार सिद्ध कर दिया। अब अंगद के पास छिपने की कोई जगह नहीं बची है, जिससे उन्हें सुग्रीव के पास लौटने के लिए विवश होना पड़े।
