अस्माभिः तु गतम् सार्धम् विनीतवत् उपस्थितम् ।
आनुपूर्व्यात् तु सुग्रीवो राज्ये त्वाम् स्थापयिष्यति ॥ ॥४-५४-२०॥
Asmābhiḥ tu gatam sārdham vinītavat upasthitam । Ānupūrvyāt tu sugrīvo rājye tvām sthāpayiṣyati ॥ ॥4-54-20॥
Translation
However, if you accompany us and present yourself humbly before him, Sugriva will, in accordance with tradition and order, establish you in the kingdom (confirm your status as heir).
हिंदी अनुवाद
यदि तुम हमारे साथ चलकर सुग्रीव के सामने विनम्रतापूर्वक उपस्थित हो जाओगे, तो सुग्रीव तुम्हें धर्मपूर्वक युवराज के पद पर (पुनः) स्थापित करेंगे।
English Commentary
Having dismantled the option of rebellion, Hanuman now offers the olive branch using the strategy of 'Sama' (conciliation). He outlines a clear path to redemption: humility (vinītavat). The commentary emphasizes the conditional nature of this safety—Angada must drop his defiance. The phrase ānupūrvyāt implies legitimacy and succession; Hanuman assures Angada that his rights as the crown prince are secure by law and tradition, provided he returns within the fold. This shifts the narrative from "surrender to an enemy" to "returning to one's rightful place."
हिंदी टीका
भय (दंड और भेद) दिखाने के बाद, अब हनुमान जी 'साम' (समझाने-बुझाने) नीति का प्रयोग कर रहे हैं। वे अंगद को समाधान दे रहे हैं—'विनीतवत् उपस्थितम्' (विनम्रता से पेश आना)। हनुमान जी जानते हैं कि सुग्रीव क्रोधी हो सकते हैं, लेकिन यदि अंगद अहंकार त्यागकर जाएं, तो सुग्रीव पिघल जाएंगे। 'आनुपूर्व्यात्' का अर्थ है क्रमानुसार या परंपरा के अनुसार; चूँकि अंगद ही वाली के पुत्र और स्वाभाविक उत्तराधिकारी हैं, सुग्रीव उनका अधिकार नहीं छीनेंगे। यह श्लोक अंगद को सुरक्षा और भविष्य की गारंटी देता है, बशर्ते वे विद्रोह का मार्ग छोड़ दें।
