आपूर्यमाणम् शश्वत् च तेजो बल पराक्रमैः ।
शशिनम् शुक्ल पक्ष आदौ वर्धमानम् इव श्रिया ॥ ॥४-५४-३॥
āpūryamāṇam śaśvat ca tejo bala parākramaiḥ । śaśinam śukla pakṣa ādau vardhamānam iva śriyā ॥ ॥4-54-3॥
Translation
Just as the moon increases in splendor at the beginning of the bright fortnight, Angada was constantly filling up and growing with brilliance, strength, and valor.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जैसे शुक्ल पक्ष के आरंभ में चंद्रमा अपनी शोभा से बढ़ता है, वैसे ही अंगद निरंतर तेज, बल और पराक्रम से परिपूर्ण होकर बढ़ रहे थे।
English Commentary
Hanuman employs a celestial metaphor to describe Angada's rising trajectory. Comparing Angada to the waxing moon during the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) signifies that his growth in power and influence is natural, visible, and rapid. He is steadily accumulating Tejas (brilliance/authority), Bala (physical strength), and Parakrama (valor). This observation is crucial for Hanuman because a rising leader naturally attracts followers. If Angada's confidence continues to wax like the moon, the Vanaras might shift their allegiance from Sugriva to him. Hanuman identifies this moment as critical: he must curb this "waxing" influence now, or Angada might eclipse Sugriva’s authority completely, endangering the mission to find Sita.

महाकपि हनुमान, अंगद के व्यक्तित्व में हो रहे परिवर्तन का विश्लेषण कर रहे हैं। जिस प्रकार शुक्ल पक्ष का चंद्रमा प्रतिदिन अपनी कलाओं में वृद्धि करता है, उसी प्रकार पिता बालि की मृत्यु और युवराज पद प्राप्त करने के बाद अंगद के प्रभाव, उत्साह और शक्ति में निरंतर वृद्धि हो रही थी। 'तेजो बल पराक्रमैः' का प्रयोग यह दर्शाता है कि अंगद अब दब्बू नहीं रहे, बल्कि उनमें नेतृत्व की चमक आ गई है। हनुमान जी देख रहे हैं कि वानर सेना अंगद के प्रति आकर्षित हो रही है। यह उपमा (चंद्रमा) न केवल अंगद के बढ़ने का संकेत है, बल्कि यह भी बताती है कि उनका प्रभाव सौम्य होते हुए भी व्यापक है, जो सुग्रीव के शासन के लिए चुनौती बन सकता है।
