अभिवादन पूर्वम् तु राजा कुशलम् एव च ।
अभिवादन पूर्वम् तु राघवौ बलशालिनौ ॥ ॥४-५५-१३॥
Abhivādana pūrvam tu rājā kuśalam eva ca । Abhivādana pūrvam tu rāghavau balaśālinau ॥ ॥4-55-13॥
Translation
(Upon your return), convey my salutations to the King (Sugriva) and inquire about his welfare. Also, convey my salutations to the two mighty Raghavas (Rama and Lakshmana).
हिंदी अनुवाद
(लौटने पर) मेरी ओर से राजा (सुग्रीव) को प्रणामपूर्वक उनका कुशल-मंगल पूछना, और महाबली दोनों राघव कुमारों (राम और लक्ष्मण) को भी प्रणाम कहना।
English Commentary
As Angada prepares for death, he adheres to the protocol of nobility. Despite his bitter outbursts against Sugriva, his final message is one of formal courtesy (abhivādana). He asks the Vanaras to inquire about the King's welfare (kuśalam), showing that he upholds his dharma as a subject and nephew even in his final moments. He also sends respects to the "mighty Raghavas." The commentary observes that this reflects Angada's high breeding; he separates his personal grievance from the formal respect due to the sovereign and his allies. It adds a tragic nobility to his character.

मृत्यु का निर्णय लेने के बाद अंगद के मन से कड़वाहट मिटने लगती है और संस्कार जागृत होते हैं। वे 'राजा' (सुग्रीव) के प्रति शिष्टाचार निभाते हैं। यद्यपि उन्होंने सुग्रीव को दुरात्मा कहा, फिर भी अंत समय में वे उन्हें प्रणाम भेज रहे हैं और 'कुशल' पूछ रहे हैं। यह भारतीय संस्कृति की गरिमा है—विरोध विचारों का है, लेकिन बड़ों का सम्मान बना रहता है। वे राम और लक्ष्मण ('राघवौ बलशालिनौ') को भी प्रणाम भेजते हैं, यह दर्शाता है कि राम के प्रति उनकी श्रद्धा कम नहीं हुई है, भले ही वे राम के मित्र (सुग्रीव) से भयभीत हों।
