परिवार्य अंगदम् सर्वे व्यवस्यन् प्रायम् आसितुम् ।
तत् वाक्यम् वालि पुत्रस्य विज्ञाय प्लवग ऋषभाः ॥ ॥४-५५-१९॥
Parivārya aṅgadam sarve vyavasyan prāyam āsitum । Tat vākyam vāli putrasya vijñāya plavaga ṛṣabhāḥ ॥ ॥4-55-19॥
Translation
Having understood the resolve and words of Vali's son, all those excellent monkeys surrounded Angada and decided to sit for the fast unto death along with him.
हिंदी अनुवाद
बालिपुत्र अंगद के उस वचन (और निश्चय) को जानकर, वे सभी वानर-श्रेष्ठ अंगद को घेरकर बैठ गए और उन्होंने भी मरण-व्रत (प्रायोपवेशन) करने का निर्णय ले लिया।
English Commentary
The situation escalates from individual protest to mass action. Understanding Angada's firm resolve, the commanders decide to join him in death. By surrounding him (parivārya), they form a defensive and emotional circle of solidarity. The commentary notes that this decision stems from a lack of alternatives—returning means execution by Sugriva, so dying here with their beloved prince seems the more honorable option. It illustrates the powerful bond between the soldiers and their field commander.

इसे 'सामूहिक बलिदान' या Mass Suicide Pact कहा जा सकता है। अंगद के प्रति निष्ठा और सुग्रीव का भय इतना अधिक था कि पूरी टुकड़ी ने मरने का फैसला किया। 'परिवार्य' (घेरकर) शब्द दिखाता है कि वे अंतिम समय में भी अपने नेता के साथ हैं। उन्होंने 'व्यवस्यन्' (निश्चय किया) कि घर लौटकर सुग्रीव के हाथों मरने से बेहतर है कि यहाँ सम्मान के साथ अंगद के साथ प्राण त्यागें। यह वानरों की 'स्वामि-भक्ति' और 'मित्र-धर्म' का चरम उदाहरण है।
