जटायुषो विनाशेन राज्ञो दशरथस्य च ।
हरणेन च वैदेह्याः संशयम् हरयो गताः ॥ ॥४-५६-१४॥
jaṭāyuṣo vināśena rājño daśarathasya ca । haraṇena ca vaidehyāḥ saṃśayam harayo gatāḥ ॥ ॥4-56-14॥
Translation
"Due to the destruction of Jatayu, the death of King Dasharatha, and the abduction of Vaidehi, the monkeys have fallen into great doubt (despair)."

"जटायु के विनाश, राजा दशरथ की मृत्यु और वैदेही (सीता) के हरण के कारण वानर अत्यंत संशय (संकट/शोक) में पड़ गए हैं।"
English Commentary
Angada summarizes the tragic chain of events leading to their current predicament. The death of Dasharatha initiated the exile, which allowed for the abduction of Vaidehi, which in turn led to the death of Jatayu. The cumulative weight of these tragedies has placed the monkeys in "saṃśayam" (doubt/peril). Here, the doubt refers to the uncertainty of their survival and the apparent triumph of adharma (unrighteousness) over dharma. Angada contextualizes their impending death as the latest chapter in a long saga of misfortunes surrounding Rama.
