ततो अब्रवीत् महातेजा भ्राता ज्येष्ठो जटायुषः ।
आत्म अनुरूपम् वचनम् वानरान् संप्रहर्षयन् ॥ ॥४-५८-११॥
Tato abravīt mahātejā bhrātā jyeṣṭho jaṭāyuṣaḥ |
Ātma anurūpam vacanam vānarān saṃpraharṣayan ॥4-58-11॥
Translation
Then, the greatly splendorous elder brother of Jatayu spoke words befitting his own nature, delighting the monkeys.

तब जटायु के महातेजस्वी ज्येष्ठ भ्राता (सम्पाती) ने वानरों को हर्षित करते हुए अपने (कुल और स्वभाव के) अनुरूप वचन कहे।
English Commentary
Sampati is described as 'mahateja' (of great splendor/spirit), emphasizing that dignity is internal, not physical. Despite being a mutilated bird, his spirit remains kingly. The phrase 'atma anurupam' (befitting himself/his lineage) suggests that his response aligns with the noble legacy of Aruna (his father) and Jatayu. He acts as a morale booster ('sampraharshayan') for the Vanara army. In a hopeless situation, the promise of actionable intelligence turns despair into excitement, marking a turning point in the narrative.
