Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एवम् उक्तः तु सुग्रीवः शैलस्य गहनाम् गुहाम् ।
प्रविवेश ततः शीघ्रम् राघव प्रिय काम्यया ॥ ॥४-६-१४॥
Evam uktaḥ tu sugrīvaḥ śailasya gahanām guhām । Praviveśa tataḥ śīghram rāghava priya kāmyayā ॥ ॥4-6-14॥
Translation
Thus addressed, Sugriva quickly entered the deep cave of the mountain with the desire to do what was pleasing to Raghava (Rama).

ऐसा कहे जाने पर, सुग्रीव राम का प्रिय करने की इच्छा से शीघ्र ही पर्वत की उस गहरी गुफा में प्रविष्ट हुए।
English Commentary
Sugriva's swift response demonstrates his commitment to the new alliance. Seeing Rama's distress, he immediately enters the gahanam guham (deep cave) where the items were stashed. The phrase Raghava priya kamyaya (with the desire to please Raghava) indicates Sugriva's motivation—he is acting out of affection and duty to his friend. It also implies that the monkeys had treated these ornaments with great care, hiding them in the depths of their stronghold rather than discarding or wearing them.

सुग्रीव की तत्परता यहाँ दर्शनीय है। राम की व्याकुलता देखकर सुग्रीव तुरंत 'गहनाम् गुहाम्' (गहरी गुफा) में जाते हैं जहाँ उन्होंने आभूषण सुरक्षित रखे थे। 'राघव प्रिय काम्यया' (राघव का प्रिय करने की कामना से) वाक्यांश यह स्पष्ट करता है कि सुग्रीव अब राम के प्रति समर्पित हैं और उन्हें कष्ट में नहीं देख सकते। यह श्लोक यह भी बताता है कि वानरों ने उन बहुमूल्य आभूषणों को बहुत सुरक्षित और गुप्त स्थान पर छिपाया था, मानो उन्हें आभास था कि ये भविष्य में महत्वपूर्ण सिद्ध होंगे।
