Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
उत्तरीयम् गृहीत्वा तु स तानि आभरणानि च ।
इदम् पश्य इति रामाय दर्शयामास वानरः ॥ ॥४-६-१५॥
Uttarīyam gṛhītvā tu sa tāni ābharaṇāni ca । Idam paśya iti rāmayā darśayāmāsa vānaraḥ ॥ ॥4-6-15॥
Translation
Taking the upper garment and those ornaments, the Vanara (Sugriva) showed them to Rama, saying, "Look at this."
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह वानर (सुग्रीव) उत्तरीय (दुपट्टा) और उन आभूषणों को लेकर (बाहर आया) और "यह देखिए" कहते हुए उन्हें राम को दिखाया।
English Commentary
The narrative is direct and unembellished, reflecting the gravity of the moment. Sugriva brings the items and simply says, Idam pashya ("Look at this"). There is no need for further explanation; the objects speak for themselves. The presentation of Sita’s uttariyam (upper garment) and jewelry serves as the first tangible contact Rama has had with Sita since her abduction. It transforms the abstract hope of finding her into a concrete, heartbreaking reality.
