तव भार्या महाबाहो भक्ष्यम् विष कृतम् यथा ।
त्यज शोकम् महाबाहो ताम् कान्ताम् आनयामि ते ॥ ॥४-६-८॥
Tava bhāryā mahābāho bhakṣyam viṣa kṛtam yathā । Tyaja śokam mahābāho tām kāntām ānayāmi te ॥ ॥4-6-8॥
Translation
O mighty-armed one, your wife is like food laced with poison (to the enemy). Abandon your grief, O mighty-armed one; I will bring your beloved back to you.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे महाबाहु! आपकी पत्नी (शत्रु के लिए) विष-युक्त भोजन के समान है। हे महाबाहु! शोक का त्याग करें, मैं आपकी उस प्रिय को वापस लाऊँगा।
English Commentary
The metaphor is made explicit here: Sita is visha kritam bhakshyam (poisoned food). While she is beautiful and desirable, possessing her is fatal. Sugriva repeats the epithet Mahabaho (Mighty-armed) twice in this single verse. This is a deliberate rhetorical strategy to awaken Rama's dormant warrior spirit amidst his grief. He is urging Rama to shift focus from the emotional paralysis of sorrow (shoka) to the anticipation of reunion and the martial action required to achieve it.

पिछली बात को आगे बढ़ाते हुए सुग्रीव स्पष्ट कहते हैं कि सीता 'विषकृत भोजन' के समान हैं। जो भी उन्हें खाने (भोगने) का प्रयास करेगा, उसकी मृत्यु निश्चित है। सुग्रीव दो बार राम को 'महाबाहु' (विशाल भुजाओं वाले) कहते हैं। यह पुनरावृत्ति राम को उनकी शारीरिक शक्ति और क्षत्रिय धर्म की याद दिलाने के लिए है—कि वे केवल एक प्रेमी नहीं, बल्कि एक योद्धा हैं। 'त्यज शोकम्' (शोक छोड़ो) अब एक आदेश जैसा है, जो कार्यवाई (Action) की ओर बढ़ने का संकेत है।
