अस्य विन्ध्यस्य शिखरे पतितो अस्मि पुरा अनघ ।
सूर्य ताप परीत अंगो निर्दग्धः सूर्य रश्मिभिः ॥ ॥४-६०-४॥
Asya vindhyasya śikhare patito asmi purā anagha । Sūrya tāpa parīta aṅgo nirdagdhaḥ sūrya raśmibhih ॥ ॥4-60-4॥
Translation
"O sinless one! Long ago, I fell on the peak of this Vindhya mountain, my limbs encompassed by the sun's heat and burnt by the sun's rays."

हे निष्पाप (अंगद)! बहुत समय पहले, सूर्य की किरणों से जलकर और सूर्य के ताप से व्याप्त अंगों वाला होकर मैं इस विंध्य पर्वत के शिखर पर गिरा था।
English Commentary
Sampati initiates a flashback to establish the origin of his current state. Addressing Angada as Anagha (sinless), he recounts the catastrophic event from Purā (long ago) where he was Nirdagdhaḥ (burnt completely) by solar radiation. This context is crucial not just for sympathy, but to explain his immobility and his subsequent spiritual awakening under Sage Nishakara (which follows this narrative).
