ततः तान् हरि वृद्धान् च तत् च सैन्यम् अरिन्दमः ।
अनुमान्य अंगदः श्रीमान् वाक्यम् अर्थवत् अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥४-६४-१४॥
tataḥ tān hari vṛddhān ca tat ca sainyam arindamaḥ । anumānya aṅgadaḥ śrīmān vākyam arthavat abravīt ॥ ॥4-64-14॥
Translation
Then, the glorious subduer of enemies, Angada, having honored the Vanara elders and the army, spoke these meaningful words.

तदनंतर, शत्रुओं का दमन करने वाले श्रीमान अंगद ने उन वानर वृद्धों और उस सेना का सम्मान (अनुमोदन) करके यह अर्थपूर्ण वचन कहा।
English Commentary
This verse describes the protocol Angada observes before delivering his critical address. Despite being the commander and a prince, he practices Anumanya—he honors, acknowledges, or seeks the permission of the elders and the troops. This builds consensus and shows respect. The adjectives used for Angada are telling: Arindamah (tamer of enemies) shows his martial prowess, while Shriman (glorious/dignified) shows his royal demeanor. Most importantly, his speech is described as Arthavat—full of meaning, significant, and to the point. He is not engaging in idle chatter; he is about to deliver a pragmatic proposal to solve their existential dilemma. This sets the stage for the "Call for Volunteers."
