क इदानीम् महातेजा लंघयिष्यति सागरम् ।
कः करिष्यति सुग्रीवम् सत्य सन्धम् अरिन्दमम् ॥ ॥४-६४-१५॥
ka idānīm mahātejā laṅghayiṣyati sāgaram । kaḥ kariṣyati sugrīvam satya sandham arindamam ॥ ॥4-64-15॥
Translation
Who is the one of great energy here who will leap across the ocean? Who will make Sugriva, the tamer of enemies, true to his promise?

इस समय ऐसा कौन महातेजस्वी वीर है जो सागर को लांघ जाएगा? कौन सुग्रीव को (उनका वचन पूरा करके) सत्यप्रतिज्ञ सिद्ध करेगा?
English Commentary
Angada issues the challenge. He asks for a volunteer who possesses Mahateja (great brilliance/energy) to cross the barrier. However, the motivation he uses is deeply rooted in Dharma and loyalty. He does not ask "Who wants to save their life?" but rather "Who will make Sugriva true to his promise?" (Satya sandham). King Sugriva pledged to Rama that he would find Sita. If the army fails, the King breaks his vow. In the epic context, breaking a solemn vow is a sin worse than death. Angada frames the leap not just as a physical feat, but as a moral duty to preserve the integrity and honor of their King.
