महासात्त्वो महातेज महाबल पराक्रमः ।
लंघने प्लवने चैव भविष्यति मया समः ॥४-६६-१९॥
mahāsāttvo mahāteja mahābala parākramaḥ |
laṃghane plavane caiva bhaviṣyati mayā samaḥ ॥4-66-19॥
Translation
"He will be possessed of great courage, great splendor, great strength, and valor. In flying and leaping, he will be equal to me."

"वह महासत्व (महान धैर्यशाली), महातेजस्वी, महाबली और पराक्रमी होगा। लांघने और कूदने (उड़ने) में वह मेरे ही समान होगा।"
English Commentary
Through this verse, Jambavan reminds Hanuman of his innate potential. Vayu's boon acts as a divine certification of Hanuman's capabilities. The phrase 'maya samah' (equal to me) is the key; since the Wind is boundless and unstoppable, a son equal to him must possess similar limitlessness. The specific mention of 'langhane' (crossing) and 'plavane' (leaping) directly addresses the current challenge of crossing the ocean, reassuring Hanuman that he is genetically and divinely engineered for this very task.

जाम्बवान इस श्लोक के माध्यम से हनुमान को उनकी मूल क्षमताओं की याद दिला रहे हैं। वायु देव का यह वरदान हनुमान की शक्तियों का प्रमाण-पत्र है। सबसे महत्वपूर्ण वाक्यांश है 'मया समः' (मेरे समान)। वायु की गति और शक्ति अपरिमित है; यदि हनुमान वायु के समान हैं, तो १०० योजन का समुद्र लांघना उनके लिए खेल मात्र है। यहाँ 'लंघने' (लांघना) और 'प्लवने' (तैरना/उछलना) शब्दों का प्रयोग सीधे वर्तमान चुनौती (समुद्र पार करना) से जुड़ता है।
