वज्रस्य च निपातेन विरुजम् त्वाम् समीक्ष्य च ।
सहस्र नेत्रः प्रीत आत्मा ददौ ते वरम् उत्तमम् ॥ ॥४-६६-२८॥
Vajrasya ca nipātena virujam tvām samīkṣya ca |
Sahasra netraḥ prīta ātmā dadau te varam uttamam ॥4-66-28॥
Translation
Observing that you remained healthy (and alive) despite the impact of the Thunderbolt, the Thousand-Eyed Indra was pleased and granted you a supreme boon.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वज्र के प्रहार से भी आपको स्वस्थ (जीवित) देखकर, सहस्र नेत्रों वाले इंद्र ने प्रसन्न होकर आपको एक उत्तम वरदान दिया।
English Commentary
Indra’s Vajra is the ultimate weapon, yet the infant Hanuman survived its impact. This resilience turned Indra’s anger into admiration. The 'Thousand-Eyed' god (Indra) recognized the extraordinary constitution of the child. Instead of fearing him as an enemy, Indra blessed him. This verse emphasizes that Hanuman’s body is harder than the hardest weapon. Jambavan is building a narrative of invincibility: if the King of Gods could not destroy him and instead blessed him, what chance do the Rakshasas of Lanka have?
हिंदी टीका
इंद्र का 'वज्र' अमोघ है; उससे बच पाना लगभग असंभव है। परंतु बालक हनुमान न केवल उसे सह गए बल्कि जीवित रहे। इसे देखकर इंद्र, जिन्होंने स्वयं प्रहार किया था, आश्चर्यचकित और प्रसन्न हुए। उन्होंने अपनी शत्रुता त्याग कर हनुमान जी की सहनशक्ति का सम्मान किया। यहाँ 'सहस्र नेत्रः' (हजार आँखों वाले इंद्र) का उल्लेख उनकी सर्वज्ञता को दर्शाता है—उन्होंने पहचान लिया कि यह बालक साधारण नहीं है। जामवंत जी यह बता रहे हैं कि जिस देवराज के प्रहार ने आपको चोट पहुंचाई, वही अंत में आपकी शक्ति के प्रशंसक बन गए।
