Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
त्रिवikrमे मया तात स शैल वन कानना ।
त्रिः सप्त कृत्वः पृथिवी परिक्रान्ता प्रदक्षिणम् ॥ ॥४-६६-३२॥
Trivikrame mayā tāta sa śaila vana kānanā |
Triḥ sapta kṛtvaḥ pṛthivī parikrāntā pradakṣiṇam ॥4-66-32॥
Translation
O Dear One! During the time of the Trivikrama avatar (Lord Vamana), I circumambulated the earth, with its mountains and forests, twenty-one times.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे तात! भगवान विष्णु के त्रिविक्रम अवतार (वामन अवतार) के समय, मैंने पर्वत और वनों सहित इस पूरी पृथ्वी की इक्कीस बार प्रदक्षिणा की थी।
English Commentary
Jambavan serves as a living bridge to ancient cosmic history. He references the Vamana Avatar (Trivikrama), where Lord Vishnu measured the universe in three steps. Jambavan claims to have circled the earth 21 times during that event, showcasing his once-legendary speed and stamina. This establishes his credibility; he knows what true speed is. By citing his past glory, he validates his current judgment: if a veteran of such cosmic events says he is now too old and that Hanuman is the capable one, the assessment carries immense weight.

जामवंत जी अपनी प्राचीनता और पूर्वकाल की शक्ति का वर्णन कर रहे हैं। वे सतयुग/त्रेता के संधि काल के वामन अवतार के साक्षी हैं। उस समय जब भगवान विष्णु ने तीन पगों में ब्रह्मांड नापा था, जामवंत जी ने उत्साह में भरकर पृथ्वी की 21 परिक्रमाएँ कर डाली थीं। यह उनकी गति का प्रमाण था। यह बताने का उद्देश्य यह है कि मैं डींग नहीं मार रहा, मेरे पास अनुभव और इतिहास है, लेकिन अब वह शक्ति नहीं रही। जब ऐसा अनुभवी व्यक्ति कह रहा है कि हनुमान श्रेष्ठ हैं, तो यह हनुमान की शक्ति का बहुत बड़ा प्रमाण है।
