विषाण्णा हरयः सर्वे हनुमन् किम् उपेक्षसे ।
विक्रमस्व महावेग विष्णुः त्रीन् विक्रमान् इव ॥ ॥४-६६-३७॥
Viṣāṇṇā harayaḥ sarve hanuman kim upekṣase |
Vikramasva mahāvega viṣṇuḥ trīn vikramān iva ॥4-66-37॥
Translation
All these monkeys are filled with sorrow; O Hanuman, why do you ignore them? O one of great speed, show your valor just as Lord Vishnu did when He took the three strides (as Vamana).
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे महावेग वाले हनुमान! ये सभी वानर विषाद (दुःख) में डूबे हुए हैं, तुम इनकी उपेक्षा क्यों कर रहे हो? जिस प्रकार भगवान विष्णु (वामन अवतार) ने तीन डगों से तीनों लोकों को नाप लिया था, उसी प्रकार तुम भी पराक्रम करो।
English Commentary
This is a pivotal moment where mythology fuels motivation. Jambavan compares Hanuman’s upcoming leap to the Trivikrama avatar of Vishnu, who covered the universe in three steps. This comparison serves two purposes: it elevates Hanuman’s mission to a divine level and suggests that the physical distance of the ocean is negligible for a being of his stature. It challenges Hanuman not to remain passive (upekṣase) while his kin suffer, urging him to unleash his god-like potential.

यह एक अत्यंत शक्तिशाली उपमा है। जाम्बवान हनुमान जी की तुलना साक्षात भगवान विष्णु के वामन अवतार से करते हैं, जिन्होंने तीन पगों में ब्रह्माण्ड नाप लिया था। यह तुलना हनुमान जी को यह याद दिलाने के लिए है कि समुद्र लांघना उनके लिए उतना ही सहज होना चाहिए। यह श्लोक भक्ति और शक्ति का संगम है—हनुमान जी को उस दिव्य शक्ति का स्मरण कराया जा रहा है जो उनके भीतर विद्यमान है। यह दुःख में डूबे साथियों के प्रति उनकी जिम्मेदारी को भी रेखांकित करता है।
