Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
पक्षयोः यत् बलम् तस्य तावत् भुज बलम् तव ।
विक्रमः च अपि वेगः च न ते तेन अपहीयते ॥४-६६-६॥
pakṣayoḥ yat balam tasya tāvat bhuja balam tava |
vikramaḥ ca api vegaḥ ca na te tena apahīyate ॥4-66-6॥
Translation
"Whatever strength is in his [Garuda's] wings, that much strength is in your arms. In valor and also in speed, you are not inferior to him."

"उस गरुड़ के पंखों में जितना बल है, उतना ही बल तुम्हारी भुजाओं में है। पराक्रम और वेग में भी तुम उससे तनिक भी कम नहीं हो।"
English Commentary
This verse draws a direct parallel between anatomical strengths. Garuda relies on the strength of his wings, whereas Hanuman relies on the strength of his arms to propel himself through the air. Jambavan clarifies that while the mechanism of flight differs, the quantum of power is identical. The phrase 'na te tena apahiyate' (you are not inferior to him) is a definitive affirmation. Since Hanuman is the son of the Wind God (Vayu), his equality in speed with Garuda is intrinsic; Jambavan is simply removing the amnesia that clouds this truth.

यह श्लोक शारीरिक रचना (Anatomy) की तुलना करता है। गरुड़ उड़ने के लिए पंखों (पक्षयोः) का प्रयोग करते हैं, जबकि हनुमान अपनी भुजाओं (भुज बलम्) के वेग से हवा को चीरते हुए छलांग लगाएंगे। जाम्बवान स्पष्ट करते हैं कि साधन अलग हो सकते हैं, लेकिन शक्ति समान है। 'न ते तेन अपहीयते' (तुम उससे हीन/कम नहीं हो) — यह वाक्य हनुमान के आत्मविश्वास को सुदृढ़ करने के लिए है। वायुपुत्र होने के नाते हनुमान का वेग स्वाभाविक रूप से गरुड़ के समान ही है, जाम्बवान बस उन्हें इस सत्य का स्मरण करा रहे हैं।
