Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तस्य अहम् शीघ्र वेगस्य शीघ्र गस्य महात्मनः ।
मारुतस्य औरसः पुत्रः प्लवने च अस्मि तत् समः ॥ ॥४-६७-१०॥
Tasya aham śīghra vegasya śīghra gasya mahātmanaḥ |
Mārutasya aurasaḥ putraḥ plavane ca asmi tat samaḥ ॥4-67-10॥
Translation
I am the own son of that swift-moving, great-souled Maruta (Wind God) who possesses great speed. In leaping and flying, I am equal to him.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं उसी शीघ्रगामी, तीव्र वेग वाले महात्मा मारुत (वायु) का औरस (सगा) पुत्र हूँ। उड़ने (छलांग लगाने) के विषय में मैं उनके ही समान हूँ。
English Commentary
This acts as the formal affirmation of his identity. Hanuman claims equality (tat samaḥ) with the Wind God in the specific skill of flight (plavane). In the context of epic heroism, claiming equality with a celestial father is the ultimate credential. It reassures the Vanara army that the entity standing before them possesses not just the physical form of a monkey, but the elemental force of the wind itself. It is a declaration of readiness.

यह श्लोक हनुमान जी के आत्मविश्वास का उद्घोष है। 'तत् समः' (उनके समान) कहना कोई साधारण बात नहीं है। एक पुत्र के लिए अपने पिता, विशेषकर एक देवता के समान शक्ति का दावा करना, यह दर्शाता है कि हनुमान जी को अपनी क्षमताओं पर पूर्ण विश्वास हो गया है। जाम्बवान ने उन्हें याद दिलाया था, और अब उन्होंने उस सत्य को स्वीकार कर लिया है। यहाँ 'औरस पुत्र' का अर्थ है स्वयं के वीर्य से उत्पन्न, जो सीधे आनुवंशिक शक्ति के हस्तांतरण की पुष्टि करता है।
