यथा विजृंभते सिंहो विवृते गिरि गह्वरे ।
मारुतस्य औरसः पुत्रः तथा संप्रति जृंभते ॥ ॥४-६७-६॥
Yathā vijṛmbhate siṃho vivṛte giri gahvare |
Mārutasya aurasaḥ putraḥ tathā samprati jṛmbhate ॥4-67-6॥
Translation
Just as a lion stretches (yawns) in a wide-open mountain cave, so did the son of the Wind God stretch himself at that moment.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जैसे कोई सिंह पर्वत की खुली गुफा में अंगड़ाई लेता है (जंभाई लेता है), उसी प्रकार वायुदेव के औरस पुत्र (हनुमान) उस समय अंगड़ाई लेने लगे (विस्तृत होने लगे)।
English Commentary
The imagery shifts to the animal kingdom to emphasize raw power. Hanuman acts like a lion (Simha) stretching in a mountain cave. This yawn/stretch (vijṛmbhate) represents the shaking off of lethargy and the priming of muscles for a violent exertion. It portrays Hanuman not just as a devotee, but as a predator of obstacles—fearless, dominant, and naturally powerful, befitting his lineage as the son of the Wind God (Maruta).
हिंदी टीका
वाल्मीकि जी यहाँ प्रकृति से एक और उपमा लेते हैं—सिंह की। हनुमान जी की तुलना गुफा में बैठे शेर से की गई है। जैसे शेर शिकार पर जाने से पहले आलस्य त्याग कर अंगड़ाई लेता है और अपनी मांसपेशियों को तैयार करता है, वैसे ही हनुमान जी समुद्र लांघन रूपी शिकार के लिए तैयार हो रहे हैं। यह उपमा उनके राजसी ठाठ, निडरता और जंगल (प्रकृति) पर उनके प्रभुत्व को दर्शाती है।
