हरीणाम् उत्थितो मध्यात् संप्रहृष्ट तनू रुहः ।
अभिवाद्य हरीन् वृद्धान् हनुमान् इदम् अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥४-६७-८॥
Harīṇām utthito madhyāt samprahṛṣṭa tanū ruhaḥ |
Abhivādya harīn vṛddhān hanumān idam abravīt ॥4-67-8॥
Translation
Standing up from the midst of the monkeys, with his body hair bristling with joy/excitement, Hanuman saluted the elderly monkeys and spoke these words.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिनके शरीर के रोयें (रोमांच से) खड़े हो गए थे, ऐसे हनुमान वानरों के बीच से उठ खड़े हुए और वृद्ध वानरों को प्रणाम करके यह वचन बोले।
English Commentary
This verse perfectly encapsulates the character of Hanuman: a blend of immense power and deep humility. Though he stands physically above everyone, bristling with supernatural energy (samprahṛṣṭa tanū ruhaḥ), his first action is to bow to the elders. This act of Abhivādya (salutation) ensures that his mission is grounded in tradition and respect. It signals that he is not acting out of ego, but out of duty and deference to wisdom.

अपनी शक्ति के चरम पर भी हनुमान जी अपने संस्कारों को नहीं भूलते। 'उत्थितो' (उठकर) वे सबसे ऊंचे हो गए हैं, और उनका शरीर रोमांच से भरा है। फिर भी, सबसे पहले उन्होंने 'वृद्धान्' (बुजुर्गों, जैसे जाम्बवान) को प्रणाम किया। यह भारतीय संस्कृति का मूल है—शक्ति आने पर विनम्रता और बड़ों का सम्मान बना रहना चाहिए। बिना बड़ों के आशीर्वाद के कोई भी महान कार्य सफल नहीं होता।
