प्रकृतिः स्थः तु काकुत्स्थः सुग्रीव वचनात् प्रभुः ।
संपरिष्वज्य सुग्रीवम् इदम् वचनम् अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥४-७-१६॥
Prakritih sthah tu kākutsthah sugrīva vachanāt prabhuh |
Samparishvajya sugrīvam idam vachanam abravīt ॥4-7-16॥
Translation
Restored to his natural state by Sugriva's words, the Lord Kakutstha (Rama) embraced Sugriva and spoke these words.

सुग्रीव के वचनों से (पुनः) अपनी स्वाभाविक अवस्था (प्रकृति) में स्थित होकर, प्रभु काकुत्स्थ (राम) ने सुग्रीव को गले लगाया और यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
The term Prakritisthah is the key here. It means returning to one's true nature or normalcy. Rama's inherent nature is composed and heroic; grief was a temporary aberration. Sugriva's words acted as the catalyst to restore this balance. Rama embraces Sugriva, a gesture that transcends formal alliance and cements a personal bond. This physical connection reinforces that they are now partners in both sorrow and success. The use of the title Prabhu (Lord/Capable one) hints that the capable Rama is back in command.

यहाँ 'प्रकृतिः स्थः' शब्द अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। इसका अर्थ है अपने मूल स्वभाव में लौटना। राम का मूल स्वभाव शोक नहीं, बल्कि धैर्य और गंभीरता है। सुग्रीव की मित्रता ने उन्हें पुनः संतुलित कर दिया है। राम का सुग्रीव को गले लगाना (संपरिष्वज्य) उनकी कृतज्ञता और स्वीकार्यता को दर्शाता है। यह आलिंगन उस मैत्री को पक्का करता है जो अग्नि के समक्ष शुरू हुई थी। अब वे केवल राजनीतिक सहयोगी नहीं, बल्कि भावनात्मक रूप से जुड़े हुए सखा हैं।
