ततः प्रहृष्टः सुग्रीवः वानरैः सचिवैः सह ।
राघवस्य वचः श्रुत्वा प्रतिज्ञातम् विशेषतः ॥ ॥४-७-२३॥
Tataḥ prahṛṣṭaḥ Sugrīvaḥ vānaraiḥ sacivaiḥ saha |
Rāghavasya vacaḥ śrutvā pratijñātam viśeṣataḥ ॥4-7-23॥
Translation
Then, hearing Raghava's words and specifically that solemn vow, Sugriva, along with his monkey ministers, became exceedingly delighted.

तब राघव (राम) के वचन और विशेष रूप से उनकी उस प्रतिज्ञा को सुनकर, अपने वानर मंत्रियों सहित सुग्रीव अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए।
English Commentary
The word visheshatah (specifically/especially) highlights that it was the specific vow of truth that shifted Sugriva’s emotional state. Until this moment, Sugriva lived in constant paranoia of Vali. Rama’s words acted as an instant liberator from that fear. The joy mentioned here is shared by the ministers as well, showing that the leadership's relief cascades down to the team. It illustrates the impact of a leader’s assertive communication; when a powerful ally speaks with conviction, it dissolves the insecurities of those relying on them.

राम की प्रतिज्ञा सुनकर सुग्रीव की प्रसन्नता का ठिकाना न रहा। यहाँ 'विशेषतः' शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है, जो दर्शाता है कि सामान्य बातचीत से अधिक प्रभाव राम की 'प्रतिज्ञा' का पड़ा। सुग्रीव और उनके मंत्रियों (हनुमान आदि) के लिए यह केवल सहायता का आश्वासन नहीं था, बल्कि यह उनके जीवन के सबसे बड़े संकट (बालि) के अंत का संकेत था। एक समर्थ रक्षक को पाकर जो राहत मिलती है, वही भाव यहाँ सुग्रीव के हर्ष में दिखाई देता है। यह श्लोक निराशा के अंधकार में आशा की किरण का प्रतीक है।
