सत्यम् तु प्रतिजानामि त्यज शोकम् अरिन्दम ।
करिष्यामि तथा यत्नम् यथा प्राप्स्यसि मैथिलीम् ॥ ॥४-७-३॥
Satyam tu pratijānāmi tyaja śokam arindama । Kariṣyāmi tathā yatnam yathā prāpsyasi maithilīm ॥ ॥4-7-3॥
Translation
"But I promise you the truth, O Destroyer of Foes, abandon your grief. I will make such efforts that you will recover Maithili."

"किन्तु हे अरिन्दम! मैं सत्य प्रतिज्ञा करता हूँ, आप शोक छोड़ दें। मैं ऐसा प्रयत्न करूँगा जिससे आप मैथिली को पुनः प्राप्त कर सकें।"
English Commentary
Sugriva immediately counterbalances his lack of knowledge with a solemn vow (pratijanami). He urges Rama to abandon grief (tyaja shokam). While he cannot promise immediate success, he pledges total effort (yatnam). This marks the shift from passive witnessing to active alliance. Sugriva is taking ownership of the mission to find Sita, reassuring Rama that the lack of current intel is a temporary hurdle, not a defeat.

अपनी अज्ञानता स्वीकारने के तुरंत बाद, सुग्रीव राम को आश्वासन देते हैं। 'सत्यम् तु प्रतिजानामि' (मैं सत्य प्रतिज्ञा करता हूँ) कहकर वे राम के विश्वास को पुनः स्थापित करते हैं। वे राम को 'अरिन्दम' कहते हैं ताकि उन्हें याद रहे कि वे शक्तिशाली हैं। सुग्रीव यह नहीं कहते कि 'मैं ले आऊंगा' (क्योंकि पता नहीं मालूम), बल्कि कहते हैं 'करिष्यामि तथा यत्नम्' (मैं वैसा प्रयत्न करूँगा)। यह एक यथार्थवादी और जिम्मेदार मित्र का कथन है।
